The restaurant is located in the main town square of Montalcino which is the regional town of some of Italy 's most well known and respected wine estates including Castello Banfi, Biondi Santi, Col D'Orcia and Fattoria dei Barbi.

Osteria le Potazzine specialises in the typical cuisine of the region and offers 8 local red wines by the half glass (50mls) or full glass (100mls). These are served by the staff from the enoline located adjacent to the bar.

The enoline has 3 volumes and the smallest volume is set to 10mls to enable to staff to test for any cork taint when a new bottle is installed.
